Analgesic effect of Tridol^(¢ç) (Tremadol) for postoperative wound pain


Abstract
The efficacy and safety of the analgesic agent 1-(methoxyphenyl)-2-(dimethylaminomethyl) cyclohexan- l -ol ( Tridol¢ç) were evaluated by administrating 50mg and 100mg of tridol to the 143 surgical patients at department of surgery of Seoul National University Hospital.
We found that low dose(50mg) intramuscular injection was only suitable for moderate degree postoperative wound pain and for severe degree post operative wound pain high dose (100mg) i.m. injection need to be tried.
And for mild degree postoperative wound pain, the effect of oral administration of 50mg tridol was very satisfactory. In terms of side effect nausea was the most frequent one and the drug was found to be safe.
